Blaze Sports America is a national nonprofit organization which provides sports training, competitions, summer camps, leadership training and recreational opportunities for youth and adults with spinal cord injury, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, muscular dystrophy, amputation, visual impairment or blindness as well as other physical disabilities. In 2008, 63 community programs were in operation in 29 states and the District of Columbia.
The
mission of Blaze Sports America is to advance the lives of youth and
adults with physical disability through sport and healthy
lifestyles.

On Friday, April 16, 2010,
Liberty Tree Elementary in Powell will be hosting its Third Annual
Enrichment Day. The essence of the Enrichment Day program is to offer a
variety of hands-on classes to students in grades one through five Your
organization participated last year and we are hoping you are willing to
donate your time and talents again this year. Enrichment Day will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Liberty Tree Elementary. Classes will consist of no more than 25 students per class. Instructors will teach anywhere from one to three 45 minute classes. An exact head count and number of classes to be conducted on each topic will be determined by registration. All instructors will be given advance information regarding enrollment. Note, there will be a volunteer and a teacher in each class to assist you in any way. Instructors and/or businesses
will be listed in the class selection program that will be sent home to more
than 600 students’ parents. In addition, your business will be able to hand
out information and brochures on Enrichment Day. This is a great way to

The Adaptive Fitness program, a collaborative effort from the YMCA of Central Ohio and the Ohio Wheelchair Sports Association, Columbus Recreation and Parks -Blaze Sports Columbus program. Designed for the physically and visually impaired, these sessions provide individualized exercised programs. These sessions are not a rehabilitation protocol, rather it aims to teach the participants skills that will allow the use of fitness facilities. The participants are taught proper technique to safely apply new skills to wide variety exercise equipment.
